MORRISTOWN, NJ — Planet Fitness is inviting all Morristown high school students between the ages of 14 and 19 to work out for free from May 16 to August 31 as part of the High School Summer Pass initiative.

High School Summer Pass, formerly known as Teen Summer Challenge, was first introduced in 2019. Starting today, high schoolers can pre-register at PlanetFitness.com/SummerPass and receive a reminder to formally sign up when the program officially begins on May 16.

Students under the age of 18 must register with a parent or guardian. All students who sign up are automatically entered into a contest that will award one $500 scholarship per state and a grand prize of a $5,000 scholarship.

Students must work out at the location they sign up at and are not permitted to use other locations.

In addition to the free in-club fitness training, all High School Summer Pass participants will have access to 15 trainer-led workout videos and 10 downloadable workouts encompassing cardio, strength, toning and sports circuits specifically for high schoolers of all fitness levels.

Over a three-and-a-half-month period in 2019, Planet Fitness saw over 900,000 teens sign up and complete over 5.5 million workouts.

“As the leader in fitness, we believe we have a responsibility to provide a welcoming, safe, and judgment-free environment for high school students to improve their physical and mental wellness, particularly given the challenges they have and continue to face in the wake of the pandemic,” said Chris Rondeau, chief executive officer at Planet Fitness.
