Planet Fitness to open 2 more N.J. gyms

Two more Planet Fitness gyms are coming to New Jersey.

The fitness center chain announced it will open locations in Clifton and Hackettstown. Both gyms are expected to open in late December, although exact opening dates have yet to be announced.

A 21,000-square-foot Planet Fitness in Clifton will be located at 1065 Bloomfield Ave., just off of Route 3.

And in Hackettstown, a gym will be at 1965 Route 57; occupying a 14,000-square-foot building in Mansfield Plaza.

“We’re excited to expand our presence in Clifton and Hackettstown,” said Shannon Meyers, vice president of Planet Fitness’ franchise division. “Finding the right gym can be intimidating, but Planet Fitness aims to make fitness accessible, affordable, and ‘Judgement Free’ for everyone, as well as safe and squeaky-clean with our spacious clubs.”

The new locations will feature cardio machines, strength equipment, rowing machines, locker rooms with showers, massage chairs, tanning booths and total body enhancement booths.

There are currently over 70 Planet Fitness locations in New Jersey and more than 2,193 locations in the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada, Panama, Mexico and Australia.
